Job Description:
Student Advising Officer (at the rank of Executive Officer) in the Campus Life Section of Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) (Ref.: 536644) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal).
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree with at least 3–5 years of relevant post-qualification administrative experience, preferably in event management, marketing, multimedia publicity, or tertiary education. Strong communication skills and fluency in Putonghua and English are essential, along with familiarity with social media platforms popular among non-local students. Proficiency in publicity, digital marketing, and multimedia content creation is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a genuine passion for student support, cultural integration, and proactive engagement, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
The appointee will join the International Student Support at CEDARS, dedicated to enhancing the experience and well-being of non-local students—including international and Chinese Mainland students—through comprehensive support and engagement initiatives. Key duties include but are not limited to:
Student Engagement & Integration
- Develop and implement programmes that foster adaptation to local academic, social, and cultural environments.
- Organize orientation activities, cultural exchange events, and social integration programmes to build a sense of belonging.
Well-being and Crisis Support
- Provide timely assistance and guidance to students facing challenges in adjustment, well-being or crisis.
Publicity & Communication
- Plan and execute publicity strategies across digital and social media platforms to promote support services and events.
- Create engaging multimedia content tailored to diverse student communities.
- Revamp the website to better cater to the needs of non-local students, enhancing accessibility, relevance, and user experience.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Recruit, train, and manage student ambassadors to assist in programme delivery.
- Collaborate with internal units and external partners to strengthen support networks for non-local students.
Other duties
- Perform any other tasks as assigned to advance the objectives of the Global Student Support Team.
