The Opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi
This role will be a fixed-term, full-time position for 12 months, during a period of parental leave. The Coordinator is responsible for the end-to-end planning and delivery of conferences and events, including client liaison, event scheduling, use of enterprise event management systems, coordination of catering and AV services, logistics, and financial administration and reconciliation. The role operates in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with competing priorities, requiring strong organisational skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple events concurrently. Challenges include peak event periods, complex stakeholder requirements, and the need to maintain service standards while learning AUT systems and processes.
The role reports to the Team Leader – Conference & Events and works closely with the wider Commercial Services and Estates team, and Faculty and Professional Services staff across the university. Key projects will include the delivery of academic conferences, student engagement events, cultural celebrations, and external events.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
4 years' experience in a similar role/ field
Strong experience working in a customer-service industry, coordinating hospitality aspects.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, taking full ownership and responsibility for outcomes.
Ability to work collaboratively within a large team environment across Faculties, Catering Operations and Audio Visual departments.
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality/Event Management, Business Administration or similar
A current clean New Zealand driver’s licence.

An exciting opportunity exists to assist in the clinical research programme of the Centre for Brain Research. We are looking for an experienced Research Nurse to support a multidisciplinary team in the Dementia Prevention Research Clinic, recruiting people with mild cognitive decline or in the very early stages of dementia to join a longitudinal research cohort to follow the natural course of the disorder and to test strategies to slow disease onset and progression. You will coordinate various tasks from participant set-up to data archiving.
You will recruit and consent participants, collect clinical data, take research samples, and proactively manage the progress of the study.
The role requires extensive knowledge and experience within a clinical research environment. In addition, you will be an excellent organiser and have a meticulous approach, ensuring that all aspects of research protocols are adhered to, monitoring and reporting events while maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Job DescriptionTe Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity A Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Chronobiology Research Group at the University of Auckland is available for a project entitled:“Spying on the secret lives of bees: Understanding the importance of eusocial clocks for honeybee behaviour”We have a 20-month position for a post-doctoral scientist to work with us on a Marsden funded grant in which we are investigating honey bee behaviour by monitoring the patterns of electrostatic fields signatures they produce inside the hive. Using a systems approach, and new technology which allows us to measure the electrostatic charge signatures bees produce and use to communicate inside the hive, we will establish how the honeybee super-clock is controlled in its natural state.Robust daily rhythms are essential to the health and well-being of all organisms, and the breakdown of rhythms can even be used to reliably predict death. Honey bees have a complex social structure controlled by their daily (circadian) clock. This clock is at the heart of the colony structure, and without it the colony cannot function. We currently have a poor understanding of how the honeybee clock ticks. This is because it has not been possible to observe behaviour inside the hive without opening it, which damages the colony and disrupts behaviour.In this project we will use new cutting-edge technology (bee spy) to non-invasively study the honeybee clock in its natural state for the first time.
