    Job Description:

    Teaching Assistant in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 536568) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

    Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in an interdisciplinary field such as Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, or a related discipline, with at least 2 years’ relevant work experience. They should have an excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (preferably with proficiency in Putonghua). Familiarity with common IT applications is advantageous. Prior teaching experience and the ability to design creative and engaging learning activities are highly desirable. They should demonstrate strong writing, communication, organisational and interpersonal skills; as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. They should also be able to multitask, self-motivated with a strong interest in teaching and a commitment to student learning.

    The appointee will work closely with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to enhancing student learning through innovative pedagogical approaches across undergraduate MBBS programmes, Common Core courses, and other teaching-related initiatives. He/She will support teaching and programme activities, including conducting tutorials and field trips for Common Core courses; developing and preparing teaching and learning materials; assisting with administrative and clerical duties; performing data collection, analysis and entry; supporting the preparation of proposals, reports, grant applications; and undertaking other duties as assigned. Working outside normal office hours and on weekends may be required, depending on teaching needs.
