Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer (several posts) in Genomics Core of the Centre for PanorOmic Sciences (CPOS) (Ref.: 536436) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

The Role

• Operate sophisticated scientific instruments to support core service and research
• Liaise with users to coordinate service logistics
• Provide technical advice to users
• Evaluate and validate new technologies

Qualifications and Qualities

• Master’s degree or above in Biomedical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a related discipline
• At least 2 years’ relevant laboratory work experience
• Strong passion in science and technologies
• Advantage but not necessary: Working knowledge of existing technologies and laboratory accreditation experience, and holder of Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) Part I/II license issued by HKMLT Board
• Self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, meticulous and enjoy teamwork
• Good command of spoken and written Chinese and English
• Competency in MS Office applications
• Candidates with higher qualifications or more experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Technical Officer
