    Job Description:

    Applications are invited for the appointment as Teaching Assistant in the School of Governance and Policy (several posts) (Ref.: 536393) to commence on August 3, 2026 or as soon as possible, on two-year fixed term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

    The Role

    The appointee will assist in the academic functions of the Master of Governance and Policy (MGP) program and other non-degree training programmes, ensuring smooth instructional delivery and effective academic communication with students and, where applicable, participants of non-degree training programmes. He/she will support School faculty in academic course delivery and administration, including course preparation, student assessments, administering examinations, student consultations and communications, field trip coordination, curriculum development, and any other tasks assigned by the Director / School Secretary.

    Qualifications and Qualities

    Applicants should have a Master’s degree or higher in economics, public policy, or a related discipline, with at least 2 years of teaching experience. They should have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese. The role requires proficiency in various teaching, digital learning and management tools. They should demonstrate a clear sense of responsibility, take feedback positively, adopt proactive initiative, and attention to detail. Knowledge of contemporary policy issues are essential. Preference will be given to those with teaching and/or research experience in research methods and data analysis.
