    Job Description:

    Records Management Officer (at the rank of Executive Officer) in the General Services of the Registry (Ref.: 536243) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, and with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

    Under the General Services of the Registry, the General Records Unit is a team managing the central filing system of the Registry and providing reference services to administrators. The Unit is now looking for a candidate for the position of Records Management Officer.

    Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree with knowledge in archives, records, or information management, preferably with 3 years of experience in related field in a sizable organisation. Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, and good IT knowledge are essential. They should also be customer-service oriented, have the ability to work both as a team player and independently, and be able to meet tight deadlines. Experience working in the higher education field or in system development is a bonus. Applicants with degrees in other disciplines but with a certificate or diploma in records and information management from a recognised training course and relevant work experience may also be considered.

    The appointee will perform records and archives management with a document management system, including but not limited to file creation, accessioning, record filing, cataloguing, and retrieval. He/she will provide research support by conducting information searches, verifying records, and preparing summaries for administrative inquiries. Furthermore, he/she will assist the Records Manager in the planning, development and implementation of records management policies, the enhancement of the document management system, and the overall resources planning of the team. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
