    Job Description:

    Research Assistant II in the Critical Care Medicine Unit (CCMU), School of Clinical Medicine (Ref: 536130) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

    Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Public Health, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, or a related discipline in Humanities. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, as well as good interpersonal and organisational skills. Proficiency in Cantonese is an essential requirement, as the appointee is required to communicate with Cantonese-speaking research participants independently. Preference will be given to those with experience in health research. Experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative research, and in using statistical (e.g. SPSS, R) and qualitative data analysis (e.g. NVivo) software packages, is highly preferred.

    The appointee will be involved in mixed-methods research projects on health-related topics. The duties will include, but are not limited to, conducting literature reviews, providing administrative and logistical support for the research projects, assisting in data collection, management and analysis, and performing other duties as assigned. He/she will also assist in some educational development projects. Irregular working hours and outdoor work may be required occasionally.

    The appointee will be under the co-supervision of Professor Emmanuel Cheung from the Critical Care Medicine Unit and Dr. Olivia Ngan from the Medical Ethics and Humanities Unit.

    A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
