Laboratory Assistant

Job Description:

Laboratory Assistant in the Department of Pathology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 535021) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should have 5 passes in HKCEE, including English (min. grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007), Chinese (Level 2 from 2007) and Mathematics, OR min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics, preferably with a diploma or above in biological, medical or laboratory sciences. They should have a good command of spoken English and Chinese, good communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in PC and commonly used software applications. Work experience in clinical laboratories would be an advantage.

The appointee will assist in histopathology and cytopathology duties; provide routine laboratory work support, including organization of specimen, record keeping, data entry, general cleaning; and other duties as assigned.
