    Job Description:

    Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I (several posts) in the Centre for Safe Medication Practice and Research (Ref: 534924)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Work with a team of researchers on projects related to big data and pharmacoepidemiology of medication safety and effectiveness in areas including such as cardiology, psychiatry, oncology and infectious diseases
    • Work on projects related to the development and validation of artificial intelligence (AI) clinical risk prediction tools using electronic medical records and genetic data
    • Conduct standard statistical analysis of epidemiological data and interpret the results
    • Manage and analyze large quantitative datasets
    • Assist in the implementation of research projects in Hong Kong SAR and across mainland China
    • Prepare and manage submission to the IRB
    • Prepare reports and manuscripts
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Requirements

    • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Computer Science, AI, Bioinformatics, Epidemiology, Pharmacy, Public Health, Health Sciences, or a related healthcare discipline with at least 1 year of relevant experience
    • A relevant background in analysing large and complex datasets using R, Python, SAS, STATA, or other analytical tools
    • The ability to implement statistical analyses of epidemiological data with correct interpretation of the results
    • Excellent communication and project management skills with attention to details
    • Excellent coordination, analytical and problem-solving skills
    • A good command of spoken and written English
    • A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

    The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis or a 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.
