Accounting Officer, Faculty Partnership & Solutions Team in the Finance and Enterprises Office (Ref.: 536833)
The Role
The appointee will assist in the following areas:
various finance functions for Faculties and Departments;
daily accounting duties, including the preparation of journal entries, processing of payment vouchers and purchase orders, and monitoring budgets;
performing supervisory role of Accounting Executives;
preparation of account statements for grant-funded projects;
preparation of schedules and reports for budgeting and financial closings;
financial analysis and year-end audits; and
any other ad hoc duties assigned by Finance Manager/Assistant Finance Manager.
Qualifications and Qualities
a recognized Accounting or Finance-related degree with at least 3 years’ relevant work experience; OR Higher Diploma with 5 passes in HKCEE including English (minimum Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007) with at least 5 years’ relevant work experience in accounting or finance; OR equivalent;
good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
proficiency in MS Word Excel, and ERP systems (knowledge of using Oracle financial system is a plus);
self-motivated, a good team player with the ability to work independently; and
experience in tertiary institutions/large organizations, and with supervisory experience would have an advantage.

Qualifications and Qualities
minimum Level 2 in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics, OR 5 passes in HKCEE including English (minimum Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007), Chinese (Level 2 from 2007) and Mathematics;
at least 1 year’s work experience, preferably in accounting, auditing, and/or banking;
a good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
good knowledge of PC and software applications such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
experience with Oracle Financials is a plus;
self-motivated and good team player, with the ability to work independently;
student member of a professional accounting body has an advantage; and
fresh university graduates will also be considered.
