The School of Architecture and Built Environment delivers programs, knowledge and technical skills focused on designing, planning, constructing, and managing the built environment sustainably. The School combines complementary disciplinary strengths in architecture and the built environment to education and research in partnership with industry to solve real-world problems. We advance sustainable development, technological innovation and apply human centred and critical perspectives to engage industry, government and communities in design and innovation in the built environment. We research and teach collaboration and stakeholder engagement in professionally based contexts. We also research and teach tools and technologies such as construction and architectural robotics, environmental simulation and assessment, and big data analytics to inform projects and decision making.Level CCompletion of a PhD in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent accreditation or standing. Demonstrated expertise and track record in teaching and research in planning at a systems level (could include a in one or more of the following areas: land use systems and planning, structural design, infrastructure; urban policy and governance and/or ecological sustainability or other areas relevant to planning systems not listed here. Membership (or eligibility to become a member) of the Planning Institute of Australia and demonstrated expertise as a practicing Urban or Regional Planner will be regarded favourably.Effective leadership in the successful development and delivery of research projects.
