    Job Description:

    Lead and support Front of House operations, staff and event delivery to provide exceptional dining and catering services across campus.

    Mō te tūka | The role

    Based in our Catering Services team, this role is responsible for leading and supervising Front of House operations across student dining, catering functions and University events.

    You'll coordinate staff, oversee service delivery, ensure food safety compliance, and help create outstanding experiences for students, staff and visitors. From daily meal services to formal dinners and key University events, you'll play a hands-on role in ensuring everything runs smoothly, safely and professionally.

    Some tasks of the role include:

    • Coordinating Front of House staffing and daily service activities
    • Leading and supporting staff to deliver exceptional customer service
    • Training, inducting and coaching Front of House team members
    • Monitoring food safety compliance and completing reporting requirements
    • Overseeing the delivery of catering functions, conferences and special events
    • Ensuring venues, equipment and service areas are set up and maintained to a high standard

    Mahi & Wāhi / Utu | Work pattern, location & salary

    This permanent role is based at our Lincoln Campus and works 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE). The fixed hours of work are:

    • Tuesday – Friday: 10:00am - 6.30pm
    • Saturday 6:00am - 2:30pm

    The salary for this position is $60,000 – $62,000 per annum, depending on experience.

    Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role

    You will bring:

    • A hospitality qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training
    • A current LCQ and Duty Manager Certificate, or the ability to obtain and maintain these
    • Significant experience in Front of House hospitality operations, including functions, events and catering services
    • Proven leadership skills with the ability to supervise, coordinate and support staff in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong knowledge of food safety, health and safety requirements, and hospitality service standards
    • Excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and maintain a professional, team-focused approach
