    Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant I / Research Assistant II in the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (to commence as soon as possible, for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance).
    Applicants should possess a bachelor's or master's degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, health data science, public health, or a related quantitative discipline. Experience with statistical programming (R and/or Python) and large-scale health datasets is required. Familiarity with causal inference methods and clinical/administrative databases will be an advantage. Candidates with less prior experience will be considered at the Research Assistant II level.
    Applicants should be intellectually curious, self-motivated, detail-oriented, comfortable learning new analytical methods independently, and able to work both independently and within a team. Good written and spoken English is essential.
    The appointee will support a research programme applying advanced quantitative and genomic-informed methods to large population health datasets, with duties including data management, statistical analysis, literature review, and documentation, under the supervision of Prof. Brian Chung. The successful candidate will have opportunities to develop specialised skills at the interface of genetic epidemiology, causal inference, and real-world clinical data, contributing to translational research on treatment strategies with direct clinical relevance.
    Candidates who demonstrate strong performance and research aptitude are encouraged to consider continuation as postgraduate (PhD) students under Prof. Brian Chung's supervision, building on skills and foundations developed during the appointment.
