    The University of Otago invites applications for the position of Kaiāwhina Whare/Sub warden at Arana College.

    The role | Te mahi

    Kaiāwhina Whare/Sub wardens assist with the provision of pastoral and administration duties to support the operation of the University’s residential Colleges. They enhance the environment to maximise the safety, well-being, academic success and personal growth of the Residents.

    It is a requirement of the role that candidates are enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Otago.

    This role requires “living-in” at the College, a “live-out” role may be considered as a final recourse.

    These roles are ideal for students looking for leadership opportunities, as they will require you to act as a role model, mentor and leader within the College community at all times.

    You will gain experience in teamwork, event management, pastoral care and time management. You will also have the chance to positively influence and support first-year and international students as they integrate into Otago.

    This is a fixed term (10 August 2026 - 9 November 2026), variable hours position based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.

    You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to apply for these roles and be planning to be a full-time University of Otago student for the remainder of 2026.
