    Job Description:

    Research Assistant I/II (several posts) in the Division of Public Health Laboratory Sciences of the School of Public Health (Ref.: 536904) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

    Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Cell or Molecular Biology, Genomics, Biological and Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or related disciplines. They should have a solid foundation in relevant areas such as virology, cell and molecular biology, genomics, and immunology. Prior hands-on research experiences in cell-based techniques and assays, molecular cloning, virology-related techniques, and bioinformatics analysis of omics data will be an advantage. Applicants should demonstrate good problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a research team. Experience in industrial R&D experience will be considered a plus.

    The appointees will join a multidisciplinary research team to carry out R&D projects in cell biology, virology, and related biotechnological areas. They will be responsible for performing laboratory experiments, analysing and interpreting experimental data, maintaining accurate experimental records, and supporting ongoing research projects under the guidance of senior team members. They may also be required to support general laboratory operations, including assisting with procurement, inventory management, and basic laboratory organization, as assigned. The appointees are expected to work in a responsible, self-motivated and reliable manner, and to contribute to achieving project milestones.

    A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
