    Senior Research Assistant / Research Assistant I/II in the Centre of Buddhist Studies (Ref.: 536848)

    Duties and Responsibilities
    Neuroimaging & Big Data Analysis
    We are seeking a highly motivated researcher to join our team in exploring the neural correlates of meditation, mindfulness interventions, and Buddhist practices. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply advanced neuroimaging data analysis techniques within a multidisciplinary environment.
    The appointee will assist with duties including developing data-analysis pipelines, supporting statistical and big data analyses, managing research data, preparing reports, and assisting with publications and project coordination. Additionally, they will support research on meditation, mindfulness, and Buddhist practices by collecting, preprocessing, and analyzing multimodal neuroimaging and physiological data, including EEG, fNIRS, ECG, and PPG, if any.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Psychology, Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
    • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or MATLAB.
    • Hands-on experience processing multimodal neuroimaging data (EEG, PPG, ECG, fMRI) using tools such as EEGLAB and SPM.
    • Prior research experience or publications in big data analytics, especially within contemplative neuroscience focusing on attention and emotion regulation, are highly desirable.
    • Related ability in research administration and team management.
    • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua) is preferred.
    • Experience in tertiary institutions is an advantage.
    Candidates with lower qualifications or less experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant I/II.
    What We Offer
    The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
