Job Description:
Assistant Manager (at the rank of Executive Officer) (several positions) in the Faculty of Science (Ref: 536911) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
The Faculty of Science is seeking high-calibre, proactive Assistant Managers (at the rank of Executive Officer) for multiple positions within our team. Successful candidates will provide support in one of the following areas: (1) academic programme administration; or (2) admissions and community outreach.
- Academic Programme Administration
The appointee will be responsible for a wide range of administrative and coordination work in support of undergraduate/taught postgraduate programmes, including:
- Handling administrative matters related to undergraduate/taught postgraduate curricula, including examinations, teaching & learning matters, course enrolment, timetabling, graduation, experiential learning, student exchange, academic advising, and student matters;
- Liaising with students, academic staff and external parties to ensure the smooth delivery of programme-related services;
- Admissions & Community Outreach
The appointee will undertake a broad array of administrative and coordination tasks in taught postgraduate admissions administration and outreach, including:
- Handling taught postgraduate matters, developing admissions strategies, conducting data analysis, and preparing admissions reports;
- Organizing Faculty-wide events, including lectures, visits and admissions activities;
Qualifications and Qualities
- A recognized Bachelor’s degree;
- 5 to 8 years of solid, relevant work experience, preferably in a tertiary education setting;
- A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua;
- Strong organizational, communication, analytical and interpersonal skills, with good IT proficiency and the ability to develop creative solutions to problems;
- A proactive attitude, together with a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, manage multiple tasks under pressure to meet tight deadlines, and with prior supervising experience.
