Job Description:

Applications are invited for appointments as Tenure-Track Clinical Associate Professor/ Clinical Assistant Professor (several posts) in the Centre of Cancer Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 536793), to commence as soon as possible, on a four-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second four-year fixed-term contract.

The Centre of Cancer Medicine is a platform to facilitate the academic development of cancer medicine and oncology, and is created to foster collaboration among the cognate disciplines/ (sub)specialities within the Centre of Cancer Medicine/ School of Clinical Medicine, and with other Schools/ Departments/ Institutes/ Hospitals/ Colleges.

Applicants should possess a medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong, with a specialist qualification in Clinical Oncology/Medical Oncology recognized by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine or its equivalent. They should demonstrate a strong commitment to clinical service, research and teaching, and will be expected to help further strengthen the Centre’s teaching in Cancer Medicine across the broad spectrum of medical and health sciences education. Applicants should have a proven record of independent research and are expected to actively engage in collaborative projects within the University and beyond, working across related disciplines and subspecialties in alignment with the Centre’s core theme of promoting cross-disciplinary synergy in cancer research and education.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointments will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits schemes, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. A monthly cash allowance will be offered to the successful candidates. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
