    Full-time Research Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education (Ref.:536916)

    Applications are invited for the captioned post. The successful candidate will be involved in a specific research project related to hearing health management.

    This Research Assistant Professor position for a large-scale hearing Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) is responsible for leading the scientific design, oversight, and execution of the study while managing research staff and ensuring rigorous data integrity.

    Applicants should possess a PhD or equivalent doctorate in audiology, hearing science, or a related field, combined with proven experience in managing research projects. They should have a strong publication record in auditory research and demonstrate a keen interest in hearing screening and/or hearing device fitting. Experience in managing complex, multi-site clinical trials and supervising interdisciplinary teams will be advantageous.

    The appointee will be responsible for developing and refining scientific protocols, overseeing data collection and analysis using advanced statistical software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R), and ensuring compliance with international standards. He/She must demonstrate strong English communication skills and be able to understand Chinese, preferably Cantonese.

    Job duties:

    • Develop a research protocol for a large-scale RCT study that involves hearing screening, hearing device fitting and other interventions, and outcome measurement
    • Manage the research project including data auditing, ethics application, and staff training in hearing screening
    • Prepare test materials, analyze data, and provide staff training on issues related to hearing devices
    • Write specifications and assist the Principal Investigator (PI) in hearing device tendering processes
    • Work with the PI and investigators on an intervention package and developing a manual for scaling the outcomes of the project for use in primary healthcare and community settings
    • Document and report research findings, for example, via presentations at local and international conferences and peer‑reviewed publications in top‑tier journals
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    The appointment will commence on 1 November 2026 and end on 31 October 2029, on a three-year fixed-term basis.

    A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary.
