    Job Description:

    Technical Manager I/II in the Project Division of the Estates Office (Ref.: 536728)

    We are looking for a Technical Manager I/II in Architecture to join the Estates Office.

    The Role

    The appointee will have the opportunity to participate in a range of projects including new building and renovation works. The project scope may cover various aspects including academic, teaching and learning, research, and residential, ranging from renovation to capital development scale.

    The appointee will be an all-rounded professional who possesses hands-on experience in delivery of quality projects and preferably with a flair for design. He/she will be responsible for various duties from inception to post-completion, including conducting feasibility studies and formulating project requirements; exercising budget control and programme planning; leading the external consultants on design quality and project implementation; monitoring site construction and resolving technical issues; coordinating with various parties including consultants, government authorities, internal user groups, facilities management and in-house bodies in relation to project execution.

    Qualifications and Qualities

    Applicants should possess:

    • A Bachelor’s degree or above in Architecture or equivalent disciplines;
    • Corporate membership of HKIA or equivalent organization;
    • At least 8 years’ relevant experience working in development consultancy or large-scale property developer at management level in project planning, management and site supervision;
    • Good communication skills and working knowledge of computer software including BIM;
    • Experience in mixed-use architectural and/or interior projects would be an advantage; and
    • A valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) issued in accordance with Chapter 59 of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance (i.e. by attending the relevant safety training courses which are recognized by the Commissioner for Labour) or equivalent.

    Those with less experience or lower qualifications may be considered for appointment as Technical Manager II.

    What We offer

    The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
