Job Description:
Full-time Research Assistant I in the Department of Comparative Literature, School of Humanities (Ref.: 536715) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
The Centre for the Study of Globalisation and Cultures (CSGC), a research centre housed in the Department of Comparative Literature, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant I to join our vibrant academic community.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in any Arts/Humanities discipline, preferably in literature, history, Asian studies, or a related field, with relevant work experience in event organization and publicity, preferably in tertiary institutions. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and IT proficiency in common computer applications. Experience with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign is highly preferred. They should be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and possess strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
The appointee will support the Director(s) of the CSGC, assisting in organising and promoting events, handling payments and reimbursements, supporting visiting scholars, maintaining the Centre’s website and mailing list, and coordinating with internal stakeholders. Other duties include record-keeping, material preparation, and ad hoc tasks. He/She may require occasional work outside office hours and light physical duties.
