Research Assistant Professor

Job Description:

Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry (Ref.:536700), to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Microelectronics, or other relevant disciplines. The appointee shall have strong background in the field of organic optoelectronics and OLED technology. They should have good publication track record and demonstrated expertise in research field. They should be responsible and able to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external parties, including academics and industry partners. They should also have good analytical skills, and a good command of English and Chinese. The appointee will work on a research project led by Professor C. M. Che, focusing on the commercialization of R&D outcomes, with support from government, industry, and academia.

The appointee will be responsible for the advancement of OLED device performance based on our proprietary materials. The appointee will develop and implement the technology strategy in alignment with research goals, define specifications and performance requirements with the research team, and stay abreast of the latest advancements in OLED display technology. He/she will oversee R&D activities related to OLED emitters and devices, providing technical guidance and leadership to optimize device performance and efficiency, as well as developing prototypes for wearable devices. Additionally, the appointee will build and establish strategic relationships with industry partners, research institutes, manufacturers, and suppliers to leverage emerging technologies, industry trends, and collaborative opportunities.
