    Job Description:

    Accounting Officer, Subsidiaries and Initiatives Team in the Finance and Enterprises Office (Ref.: 536638)

    The Role

    The appointee will work in the Subsidiaries and Initiatives Team and support the Assistant Finance Manager in the following areas:

    • supervision of team members in accomplishing the periodic financial reports including but not limited to quarterly reports, budget and interim/year end consolidation pack;
    • coordination with external auditor directly on the whole audit process of university owned subsidiaries;
    • preparation of financial statements/reports/schedules of university owned HK/non-HK subsidiaries and other entities;
    • preparation of bookkeeping and journal vouchers for university owned subsidiaries and other entities;
    • general accounting duties relating to the subsidiaries’/other entities' daily operations such as payment checking/purchase acquisition;
    • coordination and preparation for tax reporting matters relating to subsidiaries for compliance with tax filing requirements;
    • administrative duties of the University/subsidiaries’ such as company secretarial work; and
    • any other ad hoc duties as assigned.

    Qualifications and Qualities

    • a recognized Accounting or relevant degree or diploma, OR 5 passes in HKCEE including English (minimum Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007), Chinese (Level 2 from 2007) and Mathematics; OR minimum Level 2 or equivalent in HKDSEE in 5 subjects including English Language;
    • at least 5-year work experience preferably in accounting and auditing field;
    • hands-on knowledge of MS Office applications;
    • good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
    • good communication skills, self-motivation and attention to details;
    • ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment; and
    • experience in supervision of small finance team is preferred.

    What We Offer

    The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.
