Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
The Global Engagement team in Te Kahupapa ki Tai - International Office is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic student to join us as a Global Engagement Student Assistant on a casual basis until December 2026.
As a Global Engagement Student Assistant, you'll play an important role in helping students learn about the Global Exchange programme and other international opportunities.
You may be involved in:
- Supporting information sessions, drop-ins, orientation activities, and exchange fairs.
- Engaging with students and answering general questions about global opportunities.
- Sharing your own international experience and acting as a student ambassador.
- Creating content for social media and promotional campaigns.
- Assisting with events, photography, student stories, and marketing activities.
- Providing administrative support to the Global Engagement team as required.
Hours are flexible and typically involve a few hours most weeks, with additional opportunities to work during busy periods and events.

We're looking for someone who:
- Is currently enrolled at Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington.
- Has completed an overseas exchange, study abroad programme, international internship, or other significant international experience.
- Enjoys connecting with and supporting other students.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is reliable, organised, and proactive.
- Enjoys working in a diverse and multicultural environment.
Is comfortable using social media and digital communication tools.
Additional language skills and experience in student leadership programmes or student ambassador roles would be an advantage.
