Job Description:
The School of Public Health at HKU houses six academic divisions and more than 300 staff. We are looking for an Assistant Manager (at the rank of Executive Officer)/ Senior Executive Assistant (at the rank of Clerk I) (Ref.: 536642) to join the General Office and provide administrative support to the operations of the School.
The Role
The appointee will provide support to the administration of the School, mainly on building management (space allocation, repair and maintenance, relocation etc.), and other administrative support such as human resources, financial management, as well as general administration. He/She will be required to supervise junior staff, and work closely with project teams and administrative staff at the School and University level. Working outside office hours and on the weekends may be required occasionally.
Qualifications and Qualities:
- A good Bachelor’s degree or equivalent;
- Minimum 3 years’ work experience in building management, human resources, financial management, or office administration. Familiarization with administration in Higher Education institutions is an advantage;
- Experience in building/property management and supervision of junior staff is highly desirable;
- Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English and Chinese, and a good sense with numbers;
- Proficiency with MS Office, database management, and other productivity software;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, meticulous, organized and reliable; enthusiastic to take up new projects and improvement works; and
- Diplomatic, mature, and with good interpersonal skills; a good team player as well as a self-starter with a positive attitude.
Candidates with less experience will be considered for appointment as Senior Executive Assistant (at the rank of Clerk I). Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on a fixed-term full-time basis for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
