Job Description:
Applications are invited for appointment as Assistant Lecturer in French (Global and Area Studies) in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures (Job No.:536551), to commence on August 15, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to performance and availability of funding.
Applicants should hold a BA and a relevant Master’s degree, with at least 2 years of teaching experience in tertiary education and proven expertise in teaching French to non-native speakers. They should be native or near-native speakers of French and possess strong communication skills in English (fluency in Cantonese or Putonghua is an advantage). Applicants should also be familiar with current trends in language teaching and have solid experience in event management. The appointee will be expected to teach a range of courses at various levels, assist in organising cultural events, and promote both Global and Area Studies (GLAS) programme and the French programme.
