Medical Writer (at the rank of Senior Technical Officer / Technical Officer) in the Clinical Trials Centre (Ref.: 536489)
The Clinical Trials Centre (HKU-CTC) is a leading clinical trials management platform established under the LKS Faculty of Medicine and dedicated to managing and facilitating international-standard clinical trials on new drugs, medical devices and medical technologies. Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinate within a multidisciplinary team to develop clinical research documents (e.g. clinical study protocols, informed consent forms and clinical study reports) in accordance with the applicable scientific and regulatory standards;
- Conduct literature search and review;
- Assist in clinical study design;
- Communicate with clinical study sponsors, investigators, medical advisors, research pharmacists, biostatisticians, project managers and local/overseas regulatory authorities;
- Prepare and compile draft documents andmanuscripts; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Medical/Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biostatistics or a combination of related disciplines;
- With solid experience in literature search and review, scientific documents drafting and scientific publication in the domain of biomedical R&D and/or clinical research;
- Understand the medical and clinical trial terminology, knowledge in clinical research ethics and Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and practical digital literacy skills (including creating scientific flow diagrams) are definite advantages;
- Good team player with strong coordination and communication skills;
- Commitment to quality and compliance;
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage).
The appointment will be made on a two-year fixed-term full-time contract, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
