Job Description:

Technical Manager in the School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref.: 535072) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or a related discipline, with at least 10 years’ relevant experience in mortuary work, embalming and prosecting animal or human specimens. Experience in new soft-embalming techniques such as Barton’s method and Thiel’s method would be an advantage. Knowledge of human anatomy would be highly preferred. Applicants should have an excellent commend of written and spoken English and Chinese. They should have good organizational and problem-solving skills.

The appointee will play a leading role in providing technical support to the embalming team and Body Donation Programme; instructing and training junior staff; overseeing the handling of human cadavers; leading and explaining public tours of the anatomy laboratory; organizing clinical workshops; and performing other ad hoc and non-routine tasks as assigned. Occasional working on weekends/public holidays may be required.
