    The role / Te mahi

    Te Pou Whirinaki: Student Wellbeing Hub plays a central role in supporting student wellbeing at the University of Otago. We are seeking a proactive Student Wellbeing Hub Development Lead to enhance the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of the Hub.

    This role provides leadership across systems, processes, and resource development to ensure our services are student-centred, culturally responsive, and evidence informed. Working closely with the Manager, you will strengthen service delivery by integrating systems, developing practical tools and resources, and supporting continuous improvement across the Hub.

    In this role you will:
    • Lead the development and coordination of systems, workflows, and processes across the Student Wellbeing Hub.
    • Design and implement tools, documentation, and resources to support consistent, accessible, and culturally responsive service delivery.
    • Develop evidence-informed wellbeing resources for students and staff, including digital, self-help, and group materials.
    • Drive quality improvement initiatives using data, feedback, and emerging trends.
    • Collaborate across the University and engage with students to strengthen service integration and inform development.

    Your skills and experience / Kā pūkeka me kā wheako

    We are looking for candidates who has experience in service development, coordination, or quality improvement, ideally in a wellbeing or health context.

    You will have:
    • A relevant qualification (or equivalent experience) in health, mental health, wellbeing, education, or a related field.
    • Strong skills in building systems, organising workflows, and managing documentation.
    • Experience developing engaging and accessible wellbeing or educational resources.
    • Proven ability to manage projects and translate ideas into practical solutions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse communities.
    • Initiative, adaptability, and the ability to work independently.
    • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
    • Cultural competence and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, with willingness to grow knowledge of Te Ao Māori and mātauraka Māori.

    Experience in tertiary education, knowledge of student life, and familiarity with wellbeing frameworks or project methodologies (e.g. Agile, Kanban) would be advantageous.

    This is a full time (37.5 hours), fixed‑term position for 12 months, based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.

    The salary level for this position will be confirmed following a forthcoming Job Evaluation Committee meeting. This vacancy will be updated shortly thereafter.
