Accounting Executive, Treasury & Investment Operations Team in the Finance and Enterprises Office (Ref.: 536791)
The Role
This is an excellent entry point for an accounting graduate looking to develop a career in treasury or investment accounting. You will join the Treasury & Investment Operations Team, gaining practical experience in day-to-day accounting operations, stakeholder coordination, and process support within a prestigious academic institution.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Performing daily accounting duties, including journal entries, payment processing, and reconciliations.
Assisting in preparing monthly reports, variance analyses, and summaries for internal review.
Coordinating with banks and counterparties on payment instructions, fund transfers, and settlement-related activities.
Liaising with internal departments, financial institutions, and other external stakeholders to support smooth operations.
Assisting in coordinating with external auditors and preparing supporting documentation during audit engagements.
Participating in process improvement initiatives and other projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Qualities
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Some relevant work experience (1-3 years is advantageous; fresh graduates with strong academic backgrounds or internship experience are welcome to apply).
Strong communication abilities and effective stakeholder management skills.
Experience with Oracle Financials and Microsoft Office applications is highly desirable.
Prior exposure to investment operations, treasury functions, or the banking sector is an advantage but not a prerequisite.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totally up to 10% of basic salary. Applicants should possess a good bachelor’s degree, with at least 1 to 2 years’ work experience, preferably in a tertiary institution or in the education sector. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (fluency in Putonghua would be a definite advantage); good organisational and interpersonal skills; a strong sense of responsibility; computer literacy; and the ability to work independently and under pressure to meet tight deadline. They should also be good team players who are passionate in relationship-building, attentive to details, and able to multi-task. Priority will be given to those with prior experience interacting with institutions and entrepreneurs in both China and overseas. They will work at the Faculty’s Cyberport campus, may be required to work outside normal office hours and on weekends, and travel outside Hong Kong occasionally. Applications are invited for appointment as Clerk II (holding the functional title of Executive Assistant) in the School of Computing and Data Science (Ref: 536761)
The University of Hong Kong (HKU) has established a world-class Teaching and Research Site for the School of Computing and Data Science, CDS (SH) in Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, Shanghai. We are seeking an experienced, forward-thinking, and proactive individual to provide comprehensive support in the areas of human resources and general administration to facilitate effective communication and coordination between the School offices in Hong Kong and CDS(SH).
The Role
The appointee will play a versatile role in providing clerical and administrative support to the School and CDS (SH). He/She will serve as the first contact point for matters relating to CDS (SH), and act as a key liaison between the Hong Kong and Shanghai offices. Occasional travel to Chinese Mainland and work outside normal office hours may be required. The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assist in the implementation of University and School policies, procedures, and operational guidelines, and promote consistent administrative practices across the two offices;
Support onboarding arrangements for new staff and faculty members at CDS (SH), and facilitate their understanding of HKU's culture, policies, and administrative practices;
Support recruitment exercises, including interview scheduling, logistics arrangements, and compilation of application materials for review;
Facilitate communication and coordination among faculty members, administrative staff, and external stakeholders across the two offices;
Assist in the preparation, maintenance, and dissemination of administrative resources, guidelines, forms, and reference materials to support effective operations and knowledge sharing;
Provide clerical support in relation to human resources, office administration, and operational matters for CDS (SH); and
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Qualities
A recognized Bachelor's degree or above;
2 to 5 years of relevant experience in general office administration, human resources, customer service, or a related field;
Detail oriented, multi-tasking and self-motivated with strong sense of responsibility;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds;
Good IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications;
Good command of English and Chinese, including Putonghua; and
Experience in higher education institutions, multinational organizations, or cross-border operations would be an advantage.

Temporary Academic Programme Officer / Assistant Academic Programme Officer (at the rank of Clerk I / Clerk II) in the Department of Real Estate and Construction (Ref.: 536826) (to commence in September/October 2026, on a four/five-month temporary term)
Applicants should possess a higher diploma or above, with at least 5 passes in HKCEE, including English (minimum grade C if Syllabus A/ Level 2 from 2007), Chinese (Level 2 from 2007) and Mathematics, or a minimum Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSE Examination, including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics. They should also have at least three years of solid and relevant administrative experience, preferably in tertiary education sector.
The applicants should also have sound knowledge and experience in academic programme administration and external communication. An excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese is essential, and fluency in Putonghua would be an advantage. Strong organisational, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to work well in a team, multi-task efficiently, pay close attention to detail, and perform independently under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Candidates with lower qualifications and/or less experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Academic Programme Officer.
