Research Facilitation Executive (at the rank/grade of Technical Officer/Research Assistant I/II) in the Clinical Trials Centre (Ref.: 530642)

The Clinical Trials Centre (HKU-CTC) is a leading clinical trials management platform established under The University of Hong Kong LKS Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) and is dedicated to managing and facilitating international-standard clinical trials on new drugs, medical devices and medical technologies. HKU-CTC offers long-term development opportunities to passionate talents who are devoted to a career in the clinical trial profession.

Investigator-initiated clinical studies (IISs) play an important role in translating medical discoveries and hypotheses into clinical practice and bringing important value to advancement of human healthcare. To encourage and facilitate more high impact IISs, HKUMed has delegated HKU-CTC to establish an “IIS Facilitation Scheme”, through which a range of supports and services will be offered to clinical investigators by stages. We are seeking a high calibre talent to join our Investigator-initiated Clinical Studies (IISs) Facilitation Team (IFAC) as a Research Facilitation Executive.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist in operating the Investigator-initiated Clinical Studies (IISs) Facilitation Team that is responsible for facilitating academic clinical research projects initiated by clinical investigators of HKUMed;
  • Assist in providing consultation on clinical research ethics, regulatory, compliance and operational affairs and research grants application;
  • Assist in coordinating contracts and insurance for IISs as needed;
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of required services by HKU-CTC to investigators in support of their IISs;
  • Facilitate registration of IISs on public clinical trial registries;
  • Maintain a clinical research online portal for clinical research personnel;
  • Assist in organizing training courses for clinical research personnel.

Requirements:

  • Holder of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in life sciences, pharmacy or health-related disciplines;
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in research coordination and/or administration;
  • Good knowledge in clinical research ethics, regulations, compliance and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is a definite advantage;
  • Experience in handling governmental research grants (e.g. HMRF, ITF) is an added advantage;
  • Commitment to quality, integrity, confidentiality and compliance;
  • Good coordination and problem-solving skills;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Detail-minded, able to handle multiple concurrent tasks and self-motivated;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; Proficiency in Putonghua is an added advantage.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will commence as soon as possible for one or two years, renewable subject to satisfactory performance. Appointment on two-year fixed term will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
