Job Description:

Assistant Research Officer (holding the functional title of Assistant Project Manager) in the Centre for Civil Society and Governance (Ref.: 531101)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in social sciences, social work, or related disciplines with at least 8 years of project management experience in community development, social entrepreneurship or nonprofit management. Applicants should have a strong sense of responsibility, good organizational and communication skills, and a excellent command of written and spoken Chinese and English. Those with project management experience in social inclusion, community design, ESG, stakeholder engagement and empowerment, and service innovation are preferred. Applicants should be attentive to details and work independently, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and with external parties.

The appointee will assist in project development, deliver social sustainability (e.g. social inclusion and social innovation) projects in collaboration with community partners, plan and conduct stakeholder engagement events and incubation activities, and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of the Centre. Teaching duties on the above-mentioned topics may also be assigned.

The appointment will commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
