Applications are invited for appointments as Lecturer in the Journalism and Media Studies Centre (JMSC) (Ref.: 530920), to commence on June 1, 2025 or from as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in journalism, communication or related fields, with substantial years of proven professional and practical experience in the journalism or media industries. Proficient knowledge of digital media and AI applications is required. International experience with knowledge of Asia will be a definite advantage. Priority will be given to those with experience in teaching professional courses at the tertiary level.
The appointee will be responsible for teaching courses in one or more of the following areas: application of AI and technology in media and journalism, media innovation, role of media in social development, and related fields. Applicants should have knowledge of latest development in the above fields. The appointee will be part of a core team, and take leadership roles in curriculum and course development at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
