Manager/Senior Executive Assistant, Alumni and Development (at the rank of Executive Officer/Clerk I) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 530908) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a good bachelor’s degree, with at least 4 years’ experience in communications, public relations, alumni affairs and/or events management. They should have sound interpersonal and communication skills, good organizational skills with high attention to details, as well as an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua. Good understanding of digital marketing channels, including social media and email marketing. Data management and organisation skills are required, and skills in graphic design would be a definite advantage. He/She should be able to multitask under pressure, work well both independently and in a team, and work with people from diverse backgrounds.
The appointee will support the Faculty’s Alumni and Development Team in developing and implementing a spectrum of fundraising and alumni relationships initiatives. Major responsibilities include:
- Plan and execute a variety of alumni giving or fundraising events, including forums, summits, ceremonies, lectures, visits, and other activities;
- Providing full range of support on event/ project management, including organisation, budgeting, scheduling, vendor management, logistics, coordination with various teams, on-site assistance, catering, and handling inquiries.;
- Internal stakeholder management with different departments and programme staff at the university;
- Engage in the business environment and interact with entrepreneurs, corporate executives, other business leaders and academia in both China and oversea;
- Assist with record management and contact information updates in the donor and alumni database;
- Support the establishment on global alumni networks; nurturing life-long relationships with alumni, and cultivating alumni giving culture;
- Provide social media and e-communications support. Prepare or translate development-related proposals and communications in Chinese, as well as assist in general administrative duties; and
- He/She may be required to work outside normal office hours and during weekends, as well as travel outside Hong Kong occasionally. Those with less work experience will be considered as Senior Executive Assistant Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
