Software Developer (at the rank of IT Technician) in the School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 530804) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess (a) 5 passes in HKCEE or equivalent with 5 years’ relevant work experience, or (b) specialised training or education with 5 years’ relevant work experience, or (c) a recognised Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines. Experience in conducting content administration in learning management systems, providing technical support in educational institutions and web application development will be advantageous. Fresh graduates who are highly motivated may also be considered.
Applicants should have a strong sense of responsibility with good interpersonal skills, and be able to work well with our dynamic Teaching and Learning Team under a fast-paced environment. We expect applicants to possess profound knowledge in (1) Frontend programming, such as React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP; (2) Backend Programming, such as Node.js; (3) proficiency in relational databases like MySQL, Postgres DB, SQL Server, and Oracle; and (4) knowledge of DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and Git version control.
The appointees will be responsible for maintenance, enhancement and development of applications/systems for frontline operations in teaching and learning, including the Moodle platform, as well as IT support for different systems. On-the-job training will be provided. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and/or skills test.
