AUT University School of Art & Design - Digital Fabrication technical facility.
AUT's School of Art + Design is one of New Zealand's largest providers of Art + Design education. We currently engage with approximately 1400 students and offer programmes of study from a multi-discipline Design Degree, a Visual Arts degree, through to Masters and Doctoral level post-graduate study.
The school is seeking a Digital Fabrication Technician, who is an experienced digital fabrication practitioner, to provide valuable assistance to staff and students to ensure they achieve their learning objectives and receive a positive and memorable experience in using the Digital Fabrication Lab. Increasingly this excellent facility for making 3-dimensional objects supports hybrid and innovative uses of technology across other technical facilities.
Digital Fabrication - Advanced proficiency in digital fabrication practice with a strong working knowledge of a variety of additive and subtractive methods and techniques including, but not limited to, 3D printers, laser cutters and clay print extruder) and extensive knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software including, but not limited to, Rhinoceros 3D, Solid works, to assist in the creation, modification, analysis, or optimisation of a design.
Tertiary education is a diverse and rewarding work environment. You will be working with a range of students and staff, varied requirements and unusual teaching and research projects. We are looking for a capable person who has a tertiary qualification (certificate / diploma / degree) or industry qualification/experience appropriate to the level required to perform the job effectively and efficiently.

Salary Range: $59,000 - $78,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
