  • Full-time 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE)

Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
We are seeking a highly organised, efficient, and dedicated Academic Administrator to join our small team in the Faculty of Law. You will facilitate the flow of information and play a vital role in enhancing the faculty's operational processes whilst fostering a positive academic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to academic staff and students, assisting with academic processes, course management, and student services.
  • Offer student support and pastoral care acting as a point of contact for academic inquiries and student concerns.
  • Coordination of meetings and minute taking.
  • Maintain accurate academic records and manage documentation in compliance with university policies.
  • Communicate effectively with faculty members, students, and external professional bodies.
  • Organise and prioritize workflows to meet competing demands and deadlines.

Mōu | Who You Are
We are looking for someone with at least 5 years' administrative experience, preferably in a tertiary setting.  Your skills and experience will include:

  • familiarity with academic administrative software such as Student Information Systems (SIS) or Learning Management Systems (LMS), an advantage.
  • being a team player with excellent interpersonal skills being able to develop effective professional relationships and relate to people from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • experience providing student support and pastoral care in an academic setting.
  • proficiency in using modern office technology, including Microsoft Office suite (proficiency in the use of Excel), online databases, scheduling tools.
  • being highly organised, to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • a focus for detail, and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • a professional approach with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • an alignment with our organisation's values and culture, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
