Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

We have a unique opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to take the operational lead of He Kokonga Whare e Kitea - Data Coaching for student success project. With an 'equity in outcome' target, the project you will lead will focus on leveraging data effectively to work at scale, ensuring staff and the wider organisation can have greater impact on student outcomes.

Delivered as a consortium between the University of Canterbury and Victoria University of Wellington, the Senior Project Manager will work across both institutions to ensure the smooth development and delivery. The Senior Project Manager will work closely with university leadership in both institutions, and will be accountable for all aspects of delivery, to ensure funding and governance meet project sponsor expectations. 

Mōu | Who You Are

To be successful in this role, you will have extensive and demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably in a tertiary environment. You will hold and hold a Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline such as MBA or similar. You will also have the following skills and experience:

• A minimum of 9 years' experience working in project delivery preferably in an academic setting
• Experience in independently developing and leading a project from end to end.
• Proven ability to independently lead and develop a highly motivated and efficient team.
• Experience working in a complex organisation.
• Prior experience building effective working relationships at all levels across the university.
• Ability to manage and maintain budgets
• Active commitment to upholding the values, tikanga (protocols and processes), kawa (rules) of cultural practice and traditions as guided by mana whenua, Ngāi Tūāhuriri, and valuing te reo Māori.
