Do you have teaching experience, preferably in a tertiary setting, and a strong understanding of teaching and learning principles?
Do you have excellent academic writing skills and in-depth knowledge of the study skills needed for academic success at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels?
Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Kaitohutohu Ako | Learning Advisor to provide specialist teaching/learning support to promote student learning through the development of academic writing and study skills, designed to enhance student retention, completion and academic achievement. This role will involve preparing and teaching into university courses and seminars, conducting consultations with students, developing and maintaining up-to-date flexible and blended learning resource material for staff and students, and supporting staff and students via regular contact and communications.
Mōu | Who You Are
To be successful in this role you will require:
- Teaching experience preferably at tertiary level.
- Proficiency in te reo Māori would be advantageous.
- Professional skill or knowledge in the area of adult education and learning.
- Master's degree or higher.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
- Experience in developing and delivering learning, academic writing and study skills programmes via face to face or online.
- Experience in working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high quality outcomes.
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite programmes.
- An alignment with our organisation's values and culture, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
