Post-doctoral Fellow in the Division of Nephrology of the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 530244)

Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in research studies led by Prof Sydney CW Tang (https://medic.hku.hk/en/Staff/University-Academic-Staff/Prof-TANG-Chi-Wai,-Sydney/Prof-TANG-Chi-Wai-Sydney-Profile)
- Participate in research projects encompassing the realm of renal inflammation and fibrosis in different forms of chronic kidney disease including diabetic kidney disease and IgA nephropathy, using multi-omics platforms; the focus of the research is to elucidate the cellular and molecular mechanisms of metabolic regulation in both kidney resident cells and infiltrating immune cells
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- A Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Sciences or a related discipline, with a strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology or related fields
- Knowledge of bioinformatics is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently with high motivation
- Experience in handling laboratory animals and/or a good publication record would be advantageous

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a temporary basis for up to 3 years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
