  • Establishing professional development programmes to support AUT staff Pacific cultural competencies.
  • One year fixed-term role working across AUT's campuses

AUT's Office of Pacific Advancement and People and Culture work areas are looking for a Pacific Staff Taunga to drive the co-design, development, and implementation of a Pacific staffing plan, including programmes and initiatives that contribute to a thriving Pacific staff community at AUT, as well as professional development to enhance wider AUT staff Pacific cultural competencies and capabilities.

The Office of Pacific Advancement (OPA) is grounded in a collective commitment to elevating the wellbeing and success of Pacific communities at AUT and beyond. Our programmes and initiatives span the student and staff experience; academic research development, impact and engagement; advocacy, and community-based collaborations and partnerships.

  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing effective professional development programmes and initiatives, including exemplary facilitation skills;
  • Authentic, value-centred decision-making and the ability to effectively prioritise;
  • Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to present professionally to diverse sets of stakeholders;
  • In-depth understanding of the tertiary education environment especially in relation to Pacific wellbeing and success.

The Pacific Staff Taunga reports to the Pro Vice-Chancellor Pacific and is a key member of the Office of Pacific Advancement's leadership team. However, the role will also require close collaboration with AUT's People and Culture directorate, and hold a secondary reporting line into People and Culture's senior leadership team.

Salary Range: $88,000 - $107,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
