Job Description:
Assistant Research Officer in the Department of Anaesthesiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 530219) (to commence as soon as possible for up to two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.)
Applicants should possess a Master's degree or above in Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics or a related discipline, preferably with at least 5 years' research experience. They should be competent in quantitative analysis, be well equipped to acquire new statistical techniques through self-learning and have good communication skills. Publication record will be evaluated. Applicants should also be responsible, mature, attentive to details, and able to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Experience in performing meta-analyses, and epidemiological data analysis of large datasets is preferred. The appointee is expected to lead research projects and write research grants and manuscripts.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. Appointment on 2-year fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
