Position Overview

The Student Wellbeing Communications Coordinator is a key member of Massey University's Student Wellbeing team, responsible for ensuring clear and effective communication to students about the university’s wellbeing services and events. This role collaborates closely with the student wellbeing services and the communications team to keep all students, including distance learners, informed and supported in line with the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and other relevant guidelines.

This is a 12-month fixed-term position to cover parental leave.

The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and organisational skills, digital communication expertise, and a commitment to promoting a safe and supportive environment for all students. By driving proactive communication strategies and fostering awareness of wellbeing resources, this role significantly enhances the student experience at Massey University.

Key Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience with a Content Management System; HTML skills are a plus.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage marketing initiatives and support material.
  • Proficiency in social media content creation, including video and marketing automation.
  • Strong organisational, time management, and communication skills.
  • A working understanding of health or development promotion activities.
  • Experience in te ao Māori is an advantage.


Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary range: $56,622 to $80,006, based on experience.
  • Role based at one of our campuses: Albany, Auckland, Wellington, or Palmerston North.
