Job Description:

Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer (RO)/Assistant Research Officer (ARO) in the Department of Clinical Oncology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 527035), to commence as soon as possible on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Biostatistics or Bioinformatics, preferably with relevant work and research experience and an excellent track record of publications. They should be responsible, organized and self-motivated; and have excellent communication skills, experience in knowledge sharing, and the ability to work independently and in a team. The appointee will work closely with clinicians and cancer scientists in the Department to prepare reports, analyze data, train and supervise junior research staff, and perform any other duties as assigned by the Department Chairperson. Those with less qualification/experience may be considered for appointment as ARO.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary for RO or 10% of basic salary for ARO. For RO, housing benefits will be provided as applicable. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
