Research Officer in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 526525)

We now invite applications for the captioned post.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • conduct and supervise biomedical and clinical research projects which focus on overexpression and knockdown of genes mediated by lentiviral vectors in vitro and in vivo, as well as exploring the underlying mechanisms
  • perform next-generation sequencing (NGS) and analyze data from clinical samples, and generate reports
  • coordinate and communicate research activities with collaborators
  • prepare reports and scientific publications based on research findings
  • supervise postgraduate students
  • perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field with strong track record of high-quality research, preferably with expertise in cellular studies, particularly in lentivirus packaging, and animal studies
  • up-to-date knowledge of scientific and technological developments, and the ability to apply them to enhance research capabilities
  • demonstrated project management skills
  • proficiency in IT and experience in database management
  • excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese
  • ability to work independently and efficiently
  • expertise in project management software, particularly in NGS analysis, would be advantageous

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on 1-year temporary basis with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
