Job Description:

Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy (Ref.: 526667)

We now invite applications for the captioned post(s).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • assist in the application and validation methodology of electronic medical records-based cohort studies
  • studies of big data and simulation modelling in health services
  • conduct data manipulation and visualization
  • prepare scientific publications, grant proposals, and reports
  • provide general administrative and operational support
  • perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • a Bachelor’s degree or above preferably in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics, or related disciplines
  • a strong quantitative background, demonstrated expertise in analysis of large and complex datasets
  • experience in analyzing statistical data using R, SAS, Stata, Python or other programming packages
  • Relevant experience in big data manipulation or decision analytics, and a track record of publications would be advantages
  • a strong sense of responsibility
  • good organizational skills
  • independent research skills and capability
  • an excellent command of written and spoken Chinese and English

What We Offer

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis or 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
