Senior Executive Director (Taught Postgraduate) (at rank of Assistant Registrar) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 526640) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

To cope with its strategic development and expansion, the Faculty of Business and Economics (HKU Business School) is now seeking high caliber candidates to oversee the administration of its taught postgraduate programmes, including the MBA and Masters programmes.

Applicants should have a good bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably a master’s degree in business-related disciplines, with around 15 years of work experience (out of which at least 7 years in a team leader position). They should be able to demonstrate leadership of a sizeable team, sound judgment and a high capacity for independent action. An excellent command of languages, and outstanding analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) are essential. A good understanding of the business field in the higher education sector, along with the ability to build partnerships will definitely be an advantage. Applicants with management/ marketing/ admissions experience in the tertiary education will also be preferred.

The appointee will oversee the Faculty’s taught postgraduate programmes, developing strategy and leading the implementation of these programmes; co-ordinating and collaborating with various teams, inclusive of programme teams, marketing and admissions teams, and career development team, to ensure the best possible programme delivery; managing compliance for all quality assurance and accreditation requirements; representing the Faculty when working with internal and external stakeholders on matters related to taught postgraduate programmes; and performing any other duties as assigned. Frequent travelling and working on weekends may be required as information sessions, events and applicant engagement activities will form a major part of the responsibilities.
