Senior Executive Assistant, Research Centre Administration (at the rank of Clerk I) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 526631) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement)

The Faculty of Business and Economics of The University of Hong Kong (HKU Business School) strives to foster both academic and applied research to serve the needs of Hong Kong, China and the rest of the world in the fast-changing global economy. The Faculty is currently elevating its research centres and institutes as an enabling platform to promote interdisciplinary research, engage with the community and generate impacts on society. The Faculty is going to build a team of enthusiastic and dedicated professionals to support the growth and development of the research centres and institutes.

Applicants should possess a good bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years’ of work experience, preferably in tertiary institutions or the education sector. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua; possess good communication, organisational, problem-solving and teamwork skills; computer literacy and proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); as well as a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation to acquire new skills and seek continuous improvements in a dynamic environment. Applicants should also have the competencies to prioritise multiple tasks efficiently and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of thoroughness and accuracy.

The appointee will provide the following administrative and clerical support for the research centres/institutes in the areas of Business Development, Marketing and Communications:

  • Organising and/or providing logistics support to academic, business and outreach events;
  • Collecting and compiling information/data to support the development of marketing and communications strategies;
  • Assisting in the preparation of proposals, presentations and reports;
  • Assisting in the production of marketing collaterals and social media/website maintenance;
  • Arranging meetings and business trips; and
  • Performing any other duties as assigned.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
