Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Research Programme Coordinator to provide research support in an MBIE Endeavour Research Programme UOAX2212 “Shaping a circular market system for plastics in New Zealand” based at Te Herenga Mātai Pūkaha, the Faculty of Engineering. This role will focus on supporting the research team to manage the finances and deliverables of the contract and provide programme administration. You will also work closely with the Science Leader, Prof Johan Verbeek to provide research support for his other grants and proposals.  

This is a part-time role, 18.75 hours per week, fixed-term until December 2027. The salary range is $70,000 - $75,000 per annum, prorated depending on experience and qualifications.

  • Strong, demonstrable administration, coordination and organisation skills
  • Experience developing funding proposals, ensuring compliance with client/funder guidelines.
  • Experience in financial administration, preparing and managing budgets
  • Adept at working collaboratively across various functions and within your team, whilst having the autonomy to manage your own workload
  • Strong communication skills, able to adapt your communication style to get important messages across and communicate with people from various backgrounds and levels
  • Flexible and adaptable in a busy environment, balancing multiple demands
