Job Description:

Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in the Master of Arts in Chinese Language and Literature (MACLL) programme in the School of Chinese (Ref.: 526537), to commence on September 1, 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chinese Language and Literature or a related field and approximately 3 years’ post-qualification teaching experience at the tertiary level. They should have a proven track record of excellence in teaching and demonstrate evidence of administrative experience in higher education settings. Preference will be given to those with expertise in modern and contemporary Chinese literature, as well as literary creation, including writing theories. The appointee is expected to teach MACLL and undergraduate courses, supervise dissertations, and lead MACLL field trips or undergraduate experiential learning activities. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary.
